Deb Haaland is a grassroots organizer and advocate who got her start in the Kerry and Obama campaigns before rising to the top of New Mexico’s Democratic Party. During her tenure at the NM Democratic Party, she was able to eliminate the Party’s seven-year debt and flipped the State House from red to blue. Haaland learned from her parents how important it is to serve. The daughter of military parents, member of the Laguna Pueblo tribe, and former tribal administrator of the San Felipe Pueblo, Deb feels both a responsibility to the country and her community.

When elected to Congress, Deb will be the first Native American Congresswoman. She is fighting to create good paying jobs by harnessing the power of natural resources and decreasing the dependence on fossil fuels. Deb is committed to improving the lives of everyday Americans by expanding small businesses, finding real solutions to gun violence, fighting alongside Black Lives Matter and March for Our Lives. She is an unstoppable force who will make a substantial difference for this country and New Mexico.

Deb has a track record of standing up to President Trump, and will bring her strong progressive ideas to Congress without backing down. She is the progressive voice we need to effect real change.
