Julie von Haefen
North Carolina State House, District 36
I currently represent the 36th District in the North Carolina House of Representatives and serve on the Appropriations, Appropriations General Government, State Government, Local Government, and Homeland Security/Military/Veterans Affairs committees.
I am proud to be a staunch advocate for public education, working families, and equity in the North Carolina General Assembly. I have introduced and sponsored legislation that matches DFA’s values, from addressing racial bias in policing to advocating for affordable childcare to increasing the minimum wage. For too long leadership in the General Assembly has been advocating for the wealthiest few, not regular working families. I am proud to be a leader pushing for bold solutions to the challenges North Carolinians across the state are facing in Raleigh.
