Elizabeth O. Jiménez immigrated to the United States from Michoacán, México when she was 10 years old. She grew up in Pilsen where she attended Benito Juarez High School. In 1999, she moved to Berwyn where she has raised three wonderful children, Lizette, Xavier and LizaMarie.

Jiménez has a long history of serving the community and believes that everyone can participate. As a mom who completed her bachelor’s degree in education and a master’s in educational leadership while working fulltime as an administrative assistant at South Berwyn School District 100, she is proof that when you are determined to achieve a goal, all you need to do is work at it.

In addition, Jiménez has served as a teaching assistant and second grade bilingual teacher in Berwyn South School District 100. Following those accomplishments, she set her sights on building our future and was elected to the District 100 Board of Education. Elizabeth also actively participates in a variety of professional and community organizations. She is currently an educator at Maercker Elementary School in Westmont, Illinois.

Jiménez is running for office to ensure diversity in our local government. She wants to advocate for others and be the voice of those who are not able to speak for themselves. She believes that, through service and leading by example, we can collaborate, engage, inspire, learn, accept and help our fellow citizens.
