Why DFA: I had been on the email list for awhile and found out that they were looking for interns to work on the health care campaign. Health reform is a big issue and I wanted to do my part.

Favorite Part: The group of interns that DFA selects are great, they come from all over the place, from Canada to Texas to New England. It was a great mix of people of the same age but with different college majors and backgrounds.

Why DFA: I was interning in the British Parliament in 2009 for the Liberal Democrats (a mix of our Green and Libertarian Parties), and Howard Dean was the guest speaker at the spring conference that I staffed. When I went to interview him, he noticed that I was the only one who didn’t have an accent and we hit it off. We talked about what he was working on at DFA and I was sold.

Where are you now: I am finishing up my senior year of college and will be attending graduate school next year.

Why DFA: I wanted to get a chance to work in a national political environment where I would be able to make a difference. With an internship on Capital Hill, I would have been folding letters all day. At DFA, I was given responsibility for large projects and told to run with them.
