Who Am I?

Xochitl Paderes is serving her fourth term as a Vice Commander in an American Legion Post and the San Joaquin County Juvenile Justice Delinquency Prevention Commission.
As a Veteran of the Marine Corps, Xochitl has taken on the challenge of advocating for Veterans, at-risk youth, and developing a better future. All fostered by the public service spirit embedded early on by her grandfather, a WWII Veteran and local community volunteer.
As resident of San Joaquin County, she has focused on opportunities that can strengthen California’s economy, standing up for consumers, advocating for youth, and protecting natural resources while encouraging the growth of our healthy economy.
As a State employee raised by a family of hard working men and women that have been in support of the labor movement, civil liberties, and better public education; she is dedicated to protecting the working class families, advocacy of educational opportunities and working to preserve California’s American Dream of home ownership.
As a Veteran, Xochitl has advocated for local and State Veteran services and resources. As a mother Xochitl has supported and advocated for public education and teacher resources. As a wife, Xochitl has made the commitment to help those less fortune by volunteering at homeless shelters, food banks, and rehabilitation centers. The daughter of a single Mother that worked ten hour days and the Granddaughter of Farm Workers, Xochitl has proven to respect and honor those hard working men and women.
Xochitl has a long history of public service in the Central Valley. She serves as a city Board Member as well as a local Disabled American Veterans Charities Board. In the community, Xochitl has been a member of various non-profits such as Hospice of San Joaquin.
Xochitl has received numerous certificates and accolades for her community efforts and awards since her honorable discharge from the Marine Corps working at the Navy Annex and Pentagon in Washington, D.C.
A native Californian and life-long resident of the Central Valley, Xochitl Paderes attended local schools, including San Joaquin Delta Community College and the University of the Pacific using her GI BIll. Currently Xochitl and her Husband Vince live in Stockton where they are raising their three boys. Anthony, 20, that has recently announced he will be following the footsteps of his Mother and Father; joining the U.S. Marine Corps. Marcos who is 15 and Adrian who is 10 both attend school in the Lodi Unified School District.

Why Am I Running?

I decided to run for Assembly when I learned that my hometown and my husband’s hometown were combined in a newly drawn district and that it was in need of a public servant that is vested in the community. California will take on some difficult challenges in the coming years and will need someone that will be faithful to their obligations and beliefs; and have the will to stand firm on those issues. I have seen at the local level how words have failed to be followed by action. These failed actions have, and will continue to, create more harm for us as Democrats, Californians, and Americans. The balance of the powers at an Assembly level is imperative. This means that truly committed Democrats that believe in the value of the working families, labor, public education, and the Democrat issues, must be elected. I served my country to preserve the liberties and freedoms of my fellow Americans. I now offer my service to preserve those liberties as a candidate for State Assembly (AD-13) and my work to rebuild the economy.

Hold Me Accountable!

Public Education and Employment!!!

My DFA values:

I was told by my opponent that I was not good enough to run for an elected seat because I did not hold a Doctorate or bring big money. I responded that I found it disappointing that being a Veteran who served my country and a person that pays my taxes could be considered unworthy to represent. I believe that every man and women, friend or foe, has worth and value. It is us, the generation faced with a nation in decline, which must make right all the wrongs of the past. There is a united effort that we must take to believe and show that each of us is worthy and of value to this great nation and can bring our nation back as a leader of innovation and Democracy! I believe that the spirit of Americanism and the worth of Democracy have been lost in personal missions of Politicians that have left many us behind. We have allowed Democrats to take our votes and turn to big money and sell themselves out, leaving our community in shambles. My campaign will bring the spirit of a committed American the honors the value of the community back to the Assembly. My campaign will bring the poise of passion of the younger generation to fight for the values that DFA stands by. My campaign will bring the level of respect needed to work with all those that may or may not stand united with us. To have the support of DFA in this campaign would be an honor!

My Campaign is People-Powered!

1.My campaign is working with local college Youth to generate Voter support.
2.We are working hard with local working families that are labor oriented.
