Why Am I Running?

These are difficult times and they require thoughtful leadership. For too long, the people of the South Shore have been denied a seat at the negotiating table. Important decisions confronting the people of this Commonwealth are ahead of us.

The incumbent routinely bring the communities in the district less local aid, less transportation aid and less education aid. Compared to his Democratic colleagues he brings between 1/3 and 1/2 less back to the people in the district. Those unmet needs are filled through cost-shifting and higher property taxes or going without.

We need to have a seat at the table, and a champion on Beacon Hill. Relying on the good will of others is not the same as having a champion fighting for us. We have a clear choice, we can embrace a future where others make decisions on our behalf and hope for the best, or we together can send to Beacon Hill someone who will speak to the needs of the rest of us. It's time to pick someone who'll champion those of us who've been left behind.

My adult life has been dedicated to public service. I know just how critical it is to have someone prepared to take on entrenched power and the political establishment. On day one I am prepared to bring my vast experience to bear for the people of the South Shore as your voice at the statehouse.

I am choosing to stand as a candidate for the State Senate because accepting things as they are is simply not an option. For too long, the people in this district have been an afterthought. From local aid to the concerns we all face across the political spectrum, we have spent a generation too far down someone elses' list of priorities.

If you believe as I do, that together we can do better, I invite you to learn more about our campaign.
